Černé písmo (The black letters) is a book of poetry by Vít Slíva, that I recreated with typography illustrations simulating the reading/listening experience of poetry.Vít Slíva is a wonderful Czech poet who was also my teacher of Latin and Czech literature at highschool. I will always remember how beautifully and melodically he reads poems. What I wanted to do in this little project was to show my experience of the author reading his work in a visual way. So I transformed every poem in the book into a sort of typographical illustration of sound, emotions, accents… and did a little poetry book where the sound poetry is confronted with the plain(?) originals.
