The Devil Novel (Román Dábel) is a publication created as a part of my MA final project. Thanks to a close cooperation with the author and very dear friend Jan Smuty we created our black child as a first book to be published by the ink indie publishing. This book is very dark, full of mystical and biblical references, and it is quite chaotic. My aim was to reflect it’s character as well as give it an order so it is easier to read. Dark illustrations are paired with a neo-fraktur typography recalling old manuscripts, black margins help to render this black book even darker. Brno is on fire.
